Key 1
April 3, 2008 - 12:07pm
Date: Apr 4 2008 - 7:00pm - Apr 4 2008 - 11:59pm What: After more than a year of planning and consulting with a number of different organizations, Vancouver's street paper Street Corner is proudly relaunching this Friday as Megaphone.
The relaunch party will be held at Gallery Gachet (88 E. Cordova) and will feature an art auction that will act as a fundraiser for the paper. There will be a selection of art from Downtown Eastside artists, as well as past and present Street Corner contributors, a selection of framed Hope in Shadows photographs from the past five years, and award-winning artists Elaine Briere, Lung Liu and Hanna Bowman. The event will be held as a silent auction with half the proceeds going to Megaphone and the other half to the artist. The fundraiser will have music, food and drinks and give people a chance to meet the paper's vendors and staff.
The first issue of Megaphone will hit the streets on Friday, April 4 and will be available to purchase from vendors across the city.
Come out and support Megaphone and the Hope in Shadows vendors!
