Reducing Child Poverty to Increase Productivity: A Human Capital Strategy

Campaign 2000's brief to the Standing Committee on Finance pre-Budget consultation urges changes to the child tax credit, the minimum wage, early childhood education, and post-secondary education transfers as a means to reduce child poverty. The strategy proposes that the government of Canada establish a Social Investment Plan for children and families that will significantly reduce child and family poverty and provide equal opportunity for all children from birth as part of a progressive productivity agenda.
