UN Adopts Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities

The United Nations has adopted the first Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The convention strives to end discrimination based on ability and includes any type of disbility from physical to mental illness. It covers civil and political rights, accessibility, participation and inclusion, the right to education, health, work and employment and social protection.
