BC wants to force mentally ill into shelters

The BC government wants to force homeless people dealing with mental health issues into shelters but this idea has not been received positively by municipal officials and advocates.
Municipal officials have questioned how they would force people to go or stay in shelters in cold weather. Advocates and the B.C. Civil Liberties Association are criticizing the government for underfunding mental health and addictions services and say that the province cannot force people into shelter beds that don't exist.
