2nd Annual Poverty Olympics

Over 500 people turned up to raise awareness about poverty and homelessness at the second annual Poverty Olympics. The Poverty Olympics featured a mock torch parade, the mascots -- Creepy the Cockroach, Itchy the Bedbug, and Chewy the Rat and events like Skating around Poverty and the Housing Hurdles. Organizers say they will hold the third annual Poverty Olympics during the actual Olympics next year to internationally embarrass all levels of government into addressing poverty.
