Advocacy Description: 

The Advocacy Centre for the Elderly is a community based legal clinic for low income senior citizens in the Greater Toronto area. ACE provides direct legal services to low-income seniors, public legal education, and engages in law reform activities.

Lawyers at ACE provide free direct legal services in a wide variety of areas of law affecting seniors including:

•Health care consent and advance care planning;
•Consumer protection;
•Elder abuse;
•Health care;
•Home care;
•Long-term care homes;
•Pensions and income; and
•Retirement homes.

ACE will accept telephone calls for summary advice from any place in Ontario. ACE also provides public legal education services and engages in law reform.

Some eligibility requirements - must be 60 or older, and low income. Some exceptions made to eligibility on basis of access to justice.
