Advocacy Description: 

The GACF (Francophone Community Action Group) is an Ottawa-based community group, consisting of low income francophone citizens and representatives of various community agencies. Our mandate is to mobilize low-income francophone community toward the identification of solutions, policies and activities to help overcome the negative effects of poverty. GACF is actively implicated in the fight against poverty and seeks to improve the quality of life for low income individuals and families in Ottawa.

The GACF aims to:
-inform and mobilize the low-income francophone community toward the identification of solutions, policies and activities to help overcome the negative effect of poverty.
-create tools and identify solutions to relieve the effects of poverty.
-fight poverty, to give a voice to the people with low income and to improve their quality of life.
-ensure francophone representation on the Poverty Issues Advisory Committee (PIAC).
-support PIAC members, and GACF members.
-train francophone leaders to express the needs of the francophones population at PIAC.
