Statistics Canada releases 2009 on Albertans living below the poverty line

The Statistics Canada data on the number of Albertans whose income falls below the Market Basket Measure of low income was released June 15th, 2011. The Edmonton Social Planning Council news release, “Recession Causes Huge Poverty Spike in Alberta and Edmonton” puts the growing number of families living in poverty in the context of continued recession.
