Disability recipients denied volunteer supplement

In BC, according to provincial legislature if you qualify as a "persons with disabilities" and perform at least 10 hours of volunteer work a week, you are eligible for a volunteer supplement. But thousands of eligible applicants have been denied the right to the extra $100 a month, and put on a waitlist estimated to be over 7000 people long. The Together Against Poverty Society in Victoria has been calling on the government to increase funding for the program and claims that the BC Employment and Assistance Act contains no provisions for denying eligible applicants or keepinging a waitlist.
