Book Review: Tomorrow We’re All Going to the Harvest — Temporary Foreign Workers in Canada

A new book, Tomorrow We’re All Going to the Harvest: Temporary Foreign Worker Programs and Neoliberal Political Economy, explores how the the temporary foreign worker program has created a Canadian economy based on oppression. The Canadian government’s Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP), has allowed a steady stream of cheap labourers who are often exploited and silenced by the constant threat of deportation. Because of economic conditions in their home countries, these workers often don't have a choice but to except the unsafe and precarious working conditions in Canada.
