Two Conservative ministers make remarks that show disregard to poor

Two senior Conservative cabinet ministers have come out with remarks recently that show ignorance and disregard for people living in poverty. Last week Industry Minister James Moore was asked about child poverty and he answered that it wasn't the federal government's job to make sure children were fed. This week Justice Minister Peter MacKay said that homeless should sell their property to pay court fines. In October, the Conservative's the government’s mandatory victim fine surcharge has come into effect and judges are trying to find creative ways around enforcing the rules when faced with people living in poverty or on the streets.
