BC child poverty still above average

Last week First Call: BC Child and Youth Advocacy Coalition released their annual report card with the latest statistics on child and family poverty in British Columbia. Again this year they found too many children in BC living in poverty with little improvement over last year. They made 21 recommendations including increasing welfare and disability rates, raising minimum wage to $15/h, improving supports for refugees, children in government care, queer and transgender kids at risk, and other vulnerable children and establishing $10/day daycare.
