Between $40,000 - $45,000 pro-rated to 25 hours per week

Job Description: 

Working out of the fast-paced West Coast Domestic Workers’ Association (WCDWA) office in downtown Vancouver, the Legal Support Coordinator will engage in a diverse and challenging workload.

Skills and Qualities Required: 

Skills and Qualities Required: Experience with non-profit management, fundraising and preparation of funding applications and budgets. This person must be a self-starter with excellent writing, communication, computer and organizational skills. The preferred applicant will demonstrate an interest in social justice issues, demonstrate sensitivity to people from diverse social and economic backgrounds and be familiar with non-profit associations in the Lower Mainland. Fluency in Tagalog or Spanish is an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Resource Development: developing the financial resources of WCDWA. This includes submitting applications and reports in a timely fashion to our current funding bodies and sourcing new avenues of funding. Also liaising with the Executive Director, bookkeeper and Finance Committee to review financial statements and operating budgets.

• Community Development: raising the profile of the organization by maintaining and developing contacts with other community organizations, the public and the media. Community development also includes initiating, coordinating and promoting public legal education workshops and skills training opportunities for WCDWA members and clients.

• Fundraising: organizing WCDWA fundraising activities, including fundraising events and donation appeals.

• Newsletter: soliciting articles, editing, designing and publishing WCDWA’s monthly newsletter.

• Website and social media: overseeing WCDWA’s website and social media strategy.

• Office Administration: overseeing payroll, accounts payable and membership database.

• Board and Finance Committee Support: meeting with the Finance Committee, attending board meetings occasionally and providing assistance and coordination.
