$25 per hour, 35 hours per week
Potential exists to obtain the position of Unemployment Centre Society Coordinator upon the retirement of the current Coordinator.

Job Description: 

The Prince Rupert Unemployed Centre Society is a non-profit organization. It provides information, assistance, counseling, support and other services to unemployed or underemployed persons in the Prince Rupert area with a view to relieving poverty and improving conditions for such persons.

Skills and Qualities Required: 

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
Legal or advocacy experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and be reliable
Ability to show initiative
Ability to exercise tact, discretion and confidentiality
Knowledge of or experience with the Residential Tenancy Act and related legislation is an asset

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Assist clients with tenancy and housing issues
Assist the current PRUCS Coordinator with poverty and unemployment issues
