Job Description: 

The Justice Education Society has an immediate opening for a
temporary, part-time Legal Content Specialist. Working approximately 15 hours per week from November 2018 to September 2019, the candidate will provide legal expertise and content development to support JES legal help projects.

Skills and Qualities Required: 

• Proven ability to write, edit and review legal content with a focus on plain language writing and legal accuracy
• Familiarity and knowledge of BC legislation and court procedures, experience with family and civil law is an asset
• A law degree with a keen interest in public legal education
• Experience providing legal information to the public and strong legal research skills
• Experience developing, implementing and evaluating initiatives to meet program objectives and regularly report to stakeholders
• Ability to coordinate, motivate and monitor others including staff, contractors, volunteers, and legal professionals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills and professionalism
• Ability to use common business applications: MS-Office, email, internet
