Kelowna Community Resources is a searchable online database of community resources from across the central Okanagan.

Low-income British Colombians who want a break from repaying their student loans will know if they qualify within hours of using a new online application. To find the online application, go to http://www.StudentAidBC.ca, click on British Columbia Student Loan Service Bureau https://www.bcslservicebureau.com/Content/default.html in the left-hand menu, and log in. The application can be used by all borrowers with direct-lend B.C. student loans.

The Human Rights Research and Education Centre is housed at the University of Ottawa. The website has links to various Canadian human rights sites. A good place to start if you are doing research related to human rights laws.

ProBono Law of BC's Online Poverty Law Training Course is a free online training course designed for lawyers and of benefit to some non-lawyer legal professionals (such as paralegals and advocates working in areas of poverty law). "The course provides an overview of welfare law, income assistance and disability assistance, effective skills for interviewing poverty law clients, reconsideration applications, tribunal proceedings and judicial review applications. Each self-paced module includes quick links to resources, a case study and quiz. The Law Foundation of British Columbia provided funding for this project."

The Law Courts Education Society is a non-profit organization providing educational programs and services about the justice system in Canada and British Columbia. Materials are designed to help the public understand how the justice system works and to help those people working within the system to better understand the justice-related issues that different people in the communities face.

The Information Centre on Aboriginal Health (ICAH) offers a database of funding sources in order to help Aboriginal students go back to school. This free online service provides information on more than 850 scholarships, bursaries, and awards available to Aboriginal students pursuing health careers.

• Poverty: It's Local, It's Global, and It's All Connected, a student learning resource produced co-operatively by the B.C. Teachers' Federation and End Legislated Poverty, engages students in BC schools in activities that examine and analyze the attitudes toward and the causes and consequences of poverty.
