Online System Fast-Tracks Student Loan Payment Relief

Low-income British Colombians who want a break from repaying their student loans will know if they qualify within hours of using a new online application. To find the online application, go to http://www.StudentAidBC.ca, click on British Columbia Student Loan Service Bureau https://www.bcslservicebureau.com/Content/default.html in the left-hand menu, and log in. The application can be used by all borrowers with direct-lend B.C. student loans.

Online Poverty Law Training Course

ProBono Law of BC's Online Poverty Law Training Course is a free online training course designed for lawyers and of benefit to some non-lawyer legal professionals (such as paralegals and advocates working in areas of poverty law). "The course provides an overview of welfare law, income assistance and disability assistance, effective skills for interviewing poverty law clients, reconsideration applications, tribunal proceedings and judicial review applications. Each self-paced module includes quick links to resources, a case study and quiz. The Law Foundation of British Columbia provided funding for this project."

Online database for funding for Aboriginal students

This free online service provides information on more than 850 scholarships, bursaries, and awards available to Aboriginal students pursuing health careers.
