Prisonjustice.ca is a website with resources, links, articles, news in support of prisoners and prison justice activism in Canada.

Union members, injured worker advocates and others have created an organization, the Public Compensation Coalition to work towards restoring the balance and fairness to the workers' compensation system in BC and in Canada. The website has information on how to get involved and resources about the workers' compensation system.

Poverty Olympics is a site put together by a group of concerned citizens and community groups who want the 2010 Winter Games’ legacy to be one of reducing, not increasing, poverty and homelessness.

Real Change is a street newspaper, an advocacy group, a Homeless Speakers Bureau, and literary program out of Seattle. They aim to build bridges among the poor, homeless and the greater community, while engaging the broader public in fighting for economic justice. The Real Change website has an archive, resources on poverty and homelessness, and information on how to get involved.

Act up in Saskatchewan has news, events, forums, journals for the Saskatchewan activist community.

The Citywide Housing Coalition is a Vancouver-based coalition of housing activists organizing for affordable housing in BC. Their website has news, photos, and information on past and future issues and actions.

Ontario Coalition for Social Justice is a coalition of labour unions and community groups dedicated to promoting social and economic justice in Ontario. Their website has a long list of progressive organizations, a list of campaigns (Ontario Needs a Raise, Hands Off the Child Benefit, and Access to ODSP) as well as other resources.

CLEONet's Organizational List is a large resource of links to organizations in Ontario and across Canada that deal with community legal education in many different capacities.

The fifth edition of the Single Mothers' Survival Guide is now online. The guide has information for single mothers in Nova Scotia on accessing social assistance, legal aid, child support, and other social services. It also has a guide on how to become politically active and some stories and interviews with single moms.

Taproot Newsletter is the online newsletter of the Together Against Poverty Society (TAPS) from Victoria, BC. Taproot is published bi-monthly and contains informative articles related to anti-poverty issues.

The West Kootenay Boundary Community Services Directory is a list of the community services in the West Kootenay Boundary region.

The Red Book Online is a searchable database of the community organizations in the lower mainland.

“It will make it easier for community groups to request pro bono assistance. It will help lawyers find the type of pro bono work that interests them, and help them practise better, faster and easier, to produce high quality work for their pro bono clients,” said Charlotte Ensminger, acting executive director of Pro Bono Law of BC. What is pro bono work? Pro bono work means legal work for a person who has a legal problem, who cannot afford legal services, and who is ineligible for legal aid. It also includes legal work performed for free for non profit organizations, and public interest advocacy. Pro bono work includes: representing a client who has no other access to a lawyer or the court, or whose case raises issues of public interest, doing non-litigation work as a solicitor, being involved in community legal education, legal research, or law reform, being involved in a clinic that provides free legal information and summary advice, giving free legal advice and/or representation to individuals or community organizations.

(EGADZ) is a community based inter-agency organization that provides resources and actively supports services that empower youth at risk to help themselves to reach their full potential. EGADZ provides a safe acceptable place for youth at risk with links to the families, and has the support of the community. EGADZ has youth involved in expressing their needs and determining services they require meeting them."

The International Poverty Pact was drawn up at a Summit in Copenhagen in 1995. It calls for an international action to eradicate extreme poverty and reduce overall poverty.

Justice for Youth is a site supported by the Calgary John Howard Society and created and maintained by a group of youth from Calgary. These youth vary, some are young people who live at home with their parents and have never been in trouble with the law. Some are youth in care or youth in/from custody. What bonds them together is that they all want to make a difference. They all are working, side by side to help ensure that youth can get the facts around the justice system; in hopes that there online peers will make positive choices.

The New-Brunswick Common Front for Social Justice Coalitions could "write the book" on community organizing. A coalition of over fifty social action, labour, and social justice organization, the Common Front has a provincial campaign on impoverishment. This campaign is intended to:

• recognize the growing problem of impoverishment in N.B. and in Canada
• identify its effects on citizens
• develop solutions in order to act

Pivot Legal Society is a non-profit legal advocacy organization located in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside." Pivot focuses its efforts strategically to address the legal and human rights challenges commonly faced by those on the fringes of society, such as sex workers, illegal drug addicts, and the homeless." The Pivot Legal Society website has a number of articles and resources related to individuals living/working in the Downtown Eastside.

The Carnagie Newsletter is one of the most read and respected publications in the Downtown Eastside.
