There are more then 250 links with a focus on Canadian poverty reduction strategies implemented or under consideration in Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Ontario; you'll also find links to info about poverty reduction strategies in the United States, the United Nations, Europe, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Winnipeg Inner City Research Alliance is a group of academics and community partners who came together to create a forum to exchange ideas and a way to respond to inner-city issues, including housing, community development, cross-cultural approaches to education, child and youth issues, health and economic development. The website has resources, information on research projects, and publications.

Prisonjustice.ca is a website with resources, links, articles, news in support of prisoners and prison justice activism in Canada.

Falling Fortunes project is a two-year national project which aims to identify strategies to improve the income and wages, including the living wage, of young families and their children. The Falling Fortunes website has many links and resources on a living wage, as well as the report, Raising the Falling Fortunes of Young Families with Children.

A new HRSDC website, Indicators of Well-being in Canada presents comprehensive, up-to-date information on the well-being of Canadians and Canadian society, including Homeless Shelters and Beds, Low Income Incidence and Low Income Persistence.

The Poverty and Human Rights Centre is an online library with a searchable database of relevant international human rights treaties, Canadian law documents, court decisions, legal briefs, and articles. There is also a Factum Library that contains litigation documents from selected Canadian human rights cases.

European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research is a UN-affiliated intergovernmental organization concerned with all aspects of social welfare policy and research. The European Centre site has extensive downloadable resources on various aspects of social policy including addiction, migration, aging, disability, and poverty.

Institute for Research on Poverty is a center for interdisciplinary research into the causes and consequences of poverty and social inequality in the United States. It is based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As one of three Area Poverty Research Centers sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it has a particular interest in poverty and family welfare in the Midwest.

The Social Policy Cafe is a new blog, created to have a conversation about social policy in a non-partisan, respectful way.

Wellesley Institute Blog is a blog for the Toronto based institute with news, reports and research on health, housing and other poverty issues.

Taproot Newsletter is the online newsletter of the Together Against Poverty Society (TAPS) from Victoria, BC. Taproot is published bi-monthly and contains informative articles related to anti-poverty issues.

Canadian Council on Social Development's online service, "Stats & Facts," "provides accessible and accurate statistical information. This site is intended for anyone with an interest in timely data on social and economic indicators. We anticipate that Stats & Facts will be frequently used by policy analysts, community planners, activists, journalists, and students."

PovertyNet provides an introduction to key issues as well as in-depth information on poverty measurement, monitoring, analysis, and on poverty reduction strategies for researchers and practitioners.

The National Council of Welfare has an archive of publications starting in 1971, covering such things as general trends, poverty levels, poverty and gender, poverty and seniors, etc.

Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) is a center for interdisciplinary research into the causes and consequences of poverty and social inequality in the United States. The IRP's poverty-related links by category page has a vast number of related links.

The major objectives of The Review of Income and Wealth are the furthering of research on national and economic and social accounting, including the development of concepts and definitions for the measurement and analysis of income and wealth, the development and further integration of systems of economic and social statistics, and related problems of statistical methodology.

The Association for Canadian Studies (ACS) has released some research publications on low income in Canada. The reports cover such things as income levels for immigrants, prevalence of low income depending on geographic area, marital status, families and low income and a large number of other determining factors.

PovertyNet is a World Bank web site developed to provide resources for people and organizations working to understand and alleviate poverty. Its Data on Poverty webpage has information on recent trends in poverty indicators and links to sources of data on poverty.
