Dial-A-Law is a library of scripts prepared by lawyers which offers you general information on a variety of topics on law in BC including Criminal Law, Housing, Credit, Debt and Consumer, and Employment and Social Benefits. Dial-A-Law offers services in English, Simplified Chinese and Punjabi. Union members, injured worker advocates and others have created an organization, the Public Compensation Coalition to work towards restoring the balance and fairness to the workers' compensation system in BC and in Canada. The website has information on how to get involved and resources about the workers' compensation system.

Poverty Olympics is a site put together by a group of concerned citizens and community groups who want the 2010 Winter Games’ legacy to be one of reducing, not increasing, poverty and homelessness.

Street Newz is an alternative independent media site and street newsper out of Victoria that focuses on the root causes and effects of poverty, homelessness, and environmental degradation.

CCPA has a report, Negotiating Without a Floor: Unionized Worker Exclusion from BC Employment Standardswhich examines a lesser- known change to Bill 48 - Employment Standards Act, 2002, namely the exclusion of unionized workers from these basic rights. It details the growth of employer-accommodating union and their willingness to enter into collective agreements with substandard provisions.

The Poverty and Human Rights Centre is an online library with a searchable database of relevant international human rights treaties, Canadian law documents, court decisions, legal briefs, and articles. There is also a Factum Library that contains litigation documents from selected Canadian human rights cases.

Shelter Net BC is a network of groups who provide shelters for people in BC. Attached as well is a recent list of shelters available for women, men and youth in Vancouver (in PDF).

The Citywide Housing Coalition is a Vancouver-based coalition of housing activists organizing for affordable housing in BC. Their website has news, photos, and information on past and future issues and actions.

The BC Coalition of People with Disabilities (BCCPD) is working with Woodlands School survivors for their struggle for justice and compensation. Woodlands School was a provincial residential institution for thousands of children deemed to have mental disorders. It was closed in 1996 after students alleged that they were subject to abuse at the school. BCCPD has a Woodlands Campaign webpage with information on the campaign and how to get involved.

Low-income British Colombians who want a break from repaying their student loans will know if they qualify within hours of using a new online application. To find the online application, go to http://www.StudentAidBC.ca, click on British Columbia Student Loan Service Bureau https://www.bcslservicebureau.com/Content/default.html in the left-hand menu, and log in. The application can be used by all borrowers with direct-lend B.C. student loans.

The Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance has replace its BCEA manual for a new kind of information provider, entitled, the MEIA Online Resource. You can also access the Ministry Reports and Publications Online.

Law Courts Education Society of BC has an extensive website aimed at making justice more accessible. There are resources, online learning tools, self-help tools and other hands-on educational programs and services to the general public, as well as to youth, First Nations people, ethnic and immigrant communities, and people with disabilites.

LawLine Journal Blog was created to share some of the solutions to the legal problems of callers to LawLINE a phone service of the Legal Services Society for people with low incomes who face legal issues in British Columbia, and to give some insight into the lives of legal aid lawyers as they serve the public with information and advice.

Community Legal Assistance Society (CLAS) provides a number of legal and advocacy services in the areas of disability, mental, human rights and poverty.

The Transgender Heath Program was launched by Vancouver Coastal Health to improve the transgender community's access to quality health and social care.
