Poor No More is a new documentary that will take poor Canadians on a journey to see first-hand what is being done here and in other countries to reduce and eliminate poverty. The film and the website are intended to contribute to the growing debate about how we can reduce poverty in Canada.

European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research is a UN-affiliated intergovernmental organization concerned with all aspects of social welfare policy and research. The European Centre site has extensive downloadable resources on various aspects of social policy including addiction, migration, aging, disability, and poverty.

The Icarus Project is a non-profit community based website, support network, and underground media project created by and for people struggling with bipolar disorder and other dangerous gifts that are commonly labeled as mental illnesses. They believe that when we learn to take care of ourselves, the intertwined threads of madness and creativity can be tools of inspiration and hope in a repressed and damaged world.

The International Poverty Pact was drawn up at a Summit in Copenhagen in 1995. It calls for an international action to eradicate extreme poverty and reduce overall poverty.

14 million refugees and up to 25 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) live in temporary shelters throughout the world. Although some people ultimately return home or move to another country, the number of refugees and IDPS continues to grow. Doctors Without Borders provides a graphical tour of what life is like for those people. Learn about the basic needs in a refugee camp: shelter, food, water, sanitation, and health care. Hear the personal stories of refugees and relief workers. The site provides good information for use as educational materials in schools.

Forced Migration Online has launched an extensive, new resource on international law related to refugees and other forced migrants: a Research Guide on International Law and Legal Instruments.

The e-ForAll website is "dedicated to documenting interventions that make use of ICTs to help combat poverty. The predominant focus is on State interventions but private enterprise and civil society are also acknowledged."

PovertyNet is a World Bank web site developed to provide resources for people and organizations working to understand and alleviate poverty. Its Data on Poverty webpage has information on recent trends in poverty indicators and links to sources of data on poverty.

The Maquila Solidarity Network (MSN) is a Canadian network promoting solidarity with groups in Mexico, Central America, and Asia organizing in maquiladora factories and export processing zones to improve employment with dignity, fair wages and working conditions, and healthy workplaces and communities. A recent campaign saw members of the Ethical Trading Action Group (ETAG) -- a coalition of church, labour and non-governmental organizations concerned about ongoing links between Canadian apparel companies and abuses in overseas factories where their clothing is produced, take tens of thousands of clothing labels to Allan Rock's Industry Canada office.

The International Federation on Ageing says that older persons throughout the world lack access to the essentials of life as the result of discrimination on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, race, gender or religion, or because of employment practices and legislative barriers.
