Eurosio, which is latin for "to yearn, to hunger for," is a student refereed academic journal published by the Ontario Association of Food Banks (http://www.endhunger.ca) in collaboration with Meal Exchange (http://www.mealexchange.com). Esurio publishes articles on issues of hunger, poverty and food security in Ontario through a youth lens. The journal features articles written and reviewed by graduate and undergraduate students and is published twice annually. The website will have current and archived issues as well as information on how to submit.

Working on the Edge

Working on the Edge, a report created by the Workers' Action Centre, documents the experiences of workers in low-paid temporary agency and contract jobs where employers fail to meet minimum labour standards. The report makes policy recommendations, including changes to the Employment Standards Act.

Their website has a long list of progressive organizations, a list of campaigns (Ontario Needs a Raise, Hands Off the Child Benefit, and Access to ODSP) as well as other resources.

Prisoner's HIV/AIDS Support Action Network (PASAN)

Prisoner's HIV/AIDS Support Action Network (PASAN) is a community-based prisoners’ rights organization that strives to provide advocacy, education, and support to prisoners and ex-prisoners in Ontario on HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and other harm reduction issues. Their website has extensive resources on HIV/AIDS, prison justice, harm reduction and the criminal justice system. PASAN also publishes a newsletter, Cell Count.

Resources in Spanish

Toronto's Centre for Spanish Speaking Peoples (CSSP) produced ten legal fact sheets in Spanish that cover such issues as what employers can and cannot ask during a job interview, pay slips, pensions, the rights of people who work as cleaning subcontractors, parental benefits, sexual harassment, disability benefits, eviction, and requirements for second apartments in a house.

Self Advocacy Info Guides

The Ontario's Psychiatric Patient Advocate Office (PPAO) was established in 1983 to protect the civil and legal rights of inpatients in the current and former Ontario provincial psychiatric hospitals.
